Posh Pets Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue group, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of homeless animals, many of whom are rescued at the very last moment from euthanasia at the city shelters. We provide safe haven to every animal that finds their way to us through whatever circumstance, whether abandoned, injured or neglected. No matter the breed, health or age, we believe that all should live secure, healthy lives and we work tirelessly in our attempts to find the right homes with people who will love their pets for a lifetime. Posh Pets Rescue relies solely on a network of foster homes for every animal until they are permanently adopted, and pays for any and all medical treatments, including surgeries, for every animal. Please visit their website (www.poshpetsrescue.org) to learn more and to see photos of the dogs and cats available for adoption.
Please come on down and see the dogs that need homes. Or if you aren’t sure if you want a dog, come fill out a volunteer application. There are numerous ways you can help!!
A few success stories:
From Zoe D,
I am thrilled to see you’re working with Posh Pets Rescue. I adopted Tommy from them who was old, blind and deaf. He has since passed away. I also adopted the dog I have now – Billy, from them (AKA “Popcorn”). They are a wonderful organization. Linda is a fantastic lady who does all she can for homeless doggies. I hope you guys continue to do these events together.
From Kim G,
8 months ago, my husband and I were feeling like empty-nesters so we decided to adopt a dog. I found Posh Pets Rescue on the internet. There were so many adorable dogs on the site, that I immediately wanted to see them all! So I called Posh Pets to arrange an appointment. At that time, Linda told me that she had a dog that wasn’t on the website and would I be interested in seeing him. I said yes. I was introduced to a sweet dog named Brandon…a Bichon/Poodle mix. Well, that was it. I was in love! We adopted him a week later and renamed him Cecil. I won’t say that it has all been easy. The first couple of weeks, he was very anxious and unsure of his new surroundings. He became aggressive on the leash and leery of other dogs approaching me as I walked him. With some training, socialization at the Salty Paw and obedience work at home, he has settled in and is a fun, playful dog. He loves, loves, loves to play ball and has a basket full of toys which he rummages through everyday. He loves long walks because at the end of it he gets his favorite treat which is cheese! He has become a very devoted and very loving dog. I hate to think what would have happened to him if Posh Pets had not rescued him off the streets. I thank Posh Pets for bringing him to me and I thank the Salty Paw for being Cecil’s loving home away from home.
